St Luke’s CE Primary School Newsletter

22/09/2023

Dear families of our St. Luke’s children,

We’ve had another great week here at school.  Year 6 enjoyed a very successful residential at Whitehall in Buxton at the beginning of the week and I was delighted to hear about how well the children carried themselves throughout it.  They all experienced time in their ‘stretch zones’ and have surprised themselves with what they could achieve.

SeeSaw

If you haven’t yet done so, please can we have your completed Seesaw forms returned to us as soon as possible.  We are missing several from each class.

Glossop Jog

We have the Glossop Jog on Sunday 8th October at the Redgra on Pikes Lane at 11am.  This year the Rotary Club are raising funds for the Winnie Mabaso Orphanage in South Africa.  If your child would like to take part, please sign up at the school office or let Mrs Hukin or Mrs Evans know via email (info@st-lukes.derbyshire.sch.uk) and they can book you on.

Phonics and Maths Workshop for parents/carers of children in Reception class

We have our workshop at 6pm – 7pm on Thursday 28th September.  Please let Mrs Hillier know if you would like to attend in person or via Teams so we can send out a meeting link to those who can’t be present in person and we can set up the room for the number of adults who will be attending.

Hallé

The Hallé are holding a series of Family Concerts at The Bridgewater Hall this season. These are fantastic concerts for all ages. The first concert takes place on Sunday 1 October and is entitled ‘What IS an Orchestra?’ Presented by Ruth Rosales, it is a great intro to the orchestra and the different instruments with some popular pieces included in the programme. Please see the link below for details of this and other concerts available.

Wishing you all a restful and peaceful weekend.

With best wishes
