St Luke’s CE Primary School Newsletter

12.1.23

Dear Parents,

Welcome back.  I hope you all had a bit of a break over the festive period.  It has been lovely to see the children come back recharged and ready to learn.

Swimming restarts next Thursday 19th January.  The Eagles will meet at the pool at 8.45 so they are ready to start their lesson at 9.  The Ospreys will meet at school and walk up ready to start their lesson at 9.30.

A quick reminder that children must not wear earrings for PE, including swimming.  If the children cannot remove their earrings by themselves then they need to not wear them for school on the days they have PE.  This is why we recommend if you want to have your child’s ears pierced you do it at the start of the school summer holiday.  If your child has had their ears pierced in the last 6 weeks we will tape them but you must understand that this is not as safe as having no earrings in for PE.

The weather has been so wet and it looks to continue to be wet for the foreseeable future.  I have noticed that on wet days several parents have been driving into the carpark or getting taxies to school and having them drive into the carpark.  Please do not do this, it is not safe.  There are a few vehicles that have prearranged permission to drive into the carpark such as nurseries, taxies dropping children off without an adult and adults with disabilities.  Please do not take this as permission for anyone else to use the carpark.  I want us to keep everyone safe.

I am attaching dates for the term.  As always plans may change so do keep an eye on the newsletter.

Stay happy and healthy
